Undersea Explorer Adventure Diving & Research Expeditions

In June and July Undersea Explorer operates 6 day & 6 night expeditions travelling along the Ribbon Reefs diving beautiful coral gardens with the added bonus of snorkelling encounters with Dwarf Minke Whales.

This is a fantastic experience as we focus on close snorkelling encounters to study these virtually unknown whales. On the Northern Great Barrier Reef it is common for the whales to approach the vessel and snorkellers.

Our passengers dive side-by-side with world-renowned scientists studying the behaviour identification and vocalisations of the whales.

Undersea Explorer has initiated ways of maximising interactions with the whales whilst ensuring the whales are in control.

Our project has been instrumental in developing the code of practice for Minke Whale interactions.
